Last week I travelled to Southern California to attend the ISTA (International Safe Transit Association) Forum Tempack conference. Tempack is the sub-program focused on cold chain packaging research, with presentations by industry professionals and suppliers. Plastilite/Integritemp is a member of ISTA, a certified ISTA test lab, and a supporting sponsor of the forum.
Let’s continue the conversation about EPS (expanded polystyrene) foam, better known as “Styrofoam”.
EPS foam is a great choice to protect your cold chain shipments of food and pharma/bio products, as well as cushion your delicate products. I concluded my first blog by promising you facts and figures in support of EPS foam.
FACT: Plastilite wants your EPS foam packaging waste!!!!
Did you know that Plastilite is the industry leader in recycling post-consumer EPS material? Did you know that EPS densifies and can be reused and turned into insulating panels, picture frames and surfboards? And did you know that Plastilite actively offers recycling opportunities to local organizations?
At Plastilite, we are on a mission to make sure that consumers know that EPS is an environmentally-friendly and sustainable option.
This blog will discuss protective packaging, cold chain packaging, eco-friendly packaging, science, statistics, facts and figures. No blowing smoke here! My goal to clear the air of EPS (expanded polystyrene) foam misconceptions. And to spread the good word on why EPS foam is still the smart choice to protect all types of products. These range from fragile items to frozen foods to life-saving pharmaceuticals.
